White House Guest House

You will find us in an enviable riverside location in Ross-on-Wye town centre. All of our rooms have river views and we are well located to explore the local attractions or when visiting the town on business.  Within walking distance of all Ross restaurants, pubs and hotels where there is a wide choice of cuisine including Thai, Indian, Tibetan and Chinese as well as wonderful locally sourced English dishes.  The White House was built in 1720 and retains much of the original character of the building. Each room is individual, has white starched linen on the bed, ensuite bathroom or shower and thoughtful extras for our guests. We also have two 'four poster' rooms. You will be offered a hearty breakfast (either full English breakfast or vegetarian, etc.). Early breakfasts and packed lunches available by request when booking. Special dietary requirements catered for.

You are more than welcome to relax in the Guests lounge, or in our attractive gardens. Parking is never a problem as we have ample private parking available for our guests to use at all times.

Thatch Close

B & B situated between the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean, with marvelous views from every angle, Thatch Close is the ideal location for a weekend break or a longer stay.  Our home offers a warm welcome to travelers, walkers, fishermen, and tourists from Britain and elsewhere. We take pride in making you feel at home, from the moment of your arrival when you will be greeted with tea and home-baked pastries and throughout your stay.  Thatch Close has been inhabited since Saxon times. The current building is a Georgian farmhouse with Victorian additions. Guests are welcome to explore our gardens and patios, the fields and footpaths around Thatch Close. Although we are located only a mile from the bustling A40, our home is a quiet haven at the edge of a tranquil village.  Above all Thatch Close offers a comfortable home away from home. We take pride in our well appointed rooms and our breakfast. Most of our food is locally grown and much is home baked and cooked. Marian serves generous portions of home made jam and preserves, home baked breads, local free-range eggs, and prize-winning local sausages. Fairtrade tea and coffee are available and all efforts are made to use foods from local suppliers and sustainable resources. She is happy to provide evening meals, with a range of vegetarian options.  For all these reasons many guests become regular visitors. Families with young children are made welcome, and pets can be accommodated too.

As experienced proprietors, we know the importance of an enjoyable meal to round off the day. We are happy to cater for vegetarians and special diets.
